Another great way to start a rehearsal and get the ensemble on the same page!
These rhythm exercises are meant to get a whole group focused on mastering a rhythm together, with no “extra stuff” in the rests. I like to hand out a pair of drum sticks to each player, but these could just as easily be done with clapping.
After working through some of the rhythms individually, the end goal is to perform the full page without stopping along with the accompaniment track. The tracks are fun and upbeat with the rhythm featured prominently in some way.
There are 5 exercises here (20 measures each) increasing in difficulty from easy to moderate.
